Community Service Challenge—100% Participation!
Note: If you did not get a chance to participate during Jumpstart, we will have drop-off bins in the Cromer Center and the Freshmen Residence Halls when you arrive to campus in August.
Our Community Service Challenge this year is called Project School Supplies, and we want to challenge the Class of 2013 to have 100% participation. Due to budget cuts and the poor economy, we have chosen to help elementary school students and their families by providing school supplies to area elementary schools. What a great way to become involved in your new community! We are asking that you bring a few school supplies to Jumpstart to donate.
Here are a few suggestions:
- No. 2 pencils
- glue sticks
- pencil erasers (pink or white)
- colored markers
- crayons (make sure the boxes contain the eight basic colors)
- colored pencils
- binders (or accordion folders)
- pocket folders for binders
- student scissors
- red pens for correcting
- large boxes of tissue
- rulers with inches and centimeters
- highlighters
- small pencil sharpeners with covers
- zip-up backpacks
- large packs of index cards for flashcards
- pencil boxes
- construction paper
Don't forget your donation... we're going for 100% participation!
