Kaitlyn Harwell

Kaitlyn Harwell joined Lenoir-Rhyne in 2018 as an adjunct clinical nursing instructor and now serves as a full-time instructor. In this role, Harwell primarily teaches students in the clinical setting in various area hospitals and assists with training in the nursing lab.

Harwell began her nursing career seven years ago with a background in medical-surgical nursing. Her previous experience includes bedside nursing, charge nurse, nurse preceptor and nurse educator. She served on numerous committees during her time at UNC Health - Blue Ridge.

She has been a member of the Mu Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing at Lenoir-Rhyne since 2018.

Harwell is blessed to have the opportunity to share nursing knowledge and patient-centered quality care with student nurses. She strives to help provide students with quality clinical experiences to strengthen their nursing, therapeutic communication and critical thinking. She enjoys encouraging and teaching nursing students to be the best nurse they can be and also advocating for both students and patients, in and out of the classroom setting.
