Soumyakant "Soum" Padhee joined Lenoir-Rhyne in 2023 as an assistant professor of Quantitative Management.

His expertise lies in collective intelligence, industrial engineering and social network analytics. Padhee is passionate about data science and specializes in utilizing lab-based experimental methods to uncover empirical evidence in social systems.

His research has been published in renowned journals, such as the Strategic Management Society, Systems Engineering, Research Policy and Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences. 

Padhee is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt professional from the American Society of Quality. Before joining LR, Soum worked for more than four years in the automobile industry in both emerging economies and high wage countries. His experiences range from frontline shop floor leadership to quality assurance, project implementations to corporate operations strategy and supply chain management. This blend of academic and practical experience enriches his teaching and provides a solid foundation for his students' learning journey.
