Timothy Goldberg

Timothy Goldberg joined the Donald and Helen Schort School of Mathematics and Computing Sciences in 2010. In addition to being a professor of mathematics, he serves as mathematics program coordinator as well as math and computer science tutoring liaison. He currently serves as assistant director of the Honors Academy.
Goldberg's doctoral research focused on differential geometry, specifically symplectic geometry. His recent research is primarily motivated by work with students, often in the area of recreational mathematics.
In his free time, Goldberg regularly performs with the Hickory Choral Society and has appeared in several musicals at LR, including The Threepenny Opera, Ragtime, City of Angels, Chicago and Next to Normal. He is also an avid fan of comic books and regularly teaches a First Year Experience course about comic books and graphic literature.
