• Return to Normal University Operations on Thursday, Feb. 20

Lenoir-Rhyne University will return to normal university operations on Thursday, Feb. 20, at our all of our campus locations—Hickory, Columbia and Asheville. Classes will resume as scheduled, and all offices will be open.

UPDATE: Feb. 20, 9:15 a.m. (from Academic Affairs)
Due to the recent weather changes in Hickory, you may opt to move your classes to remote delivery today if you have concerns about safely traveling to campus. If you choose to hold classes remotely, please notify your students and your dean as soon as possible.

For those holding in-person classes, we ask that you exercise flexibility with attendance policies, understanding that some students may face transportation challenges or safety concerns. Students should not feel compelled to risk unsafe travel conditions to attend class.

Please communicate your teaching plans to your students and your dean.

Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring everyone's safety while maintaining academic continuity.

College Access & Affordability

Lenoir-Rhyne Promise

Make access to a college degree accessible and affordable.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Promise (LR Promise) is a Lenoir-Rhyne University program focused on making college more accessible and affordable while recognizing the academic achievements of high-performing students. The LR Promise rewards first-year undergraduate students who have a minimum 3.5 high school GPA at the time of admission with a financial aid package worth at least 50 percent of the cost of tuition. No student or parent loans are packaged as part of the LR Promise.

The LR Promise is also open to transfer undergraduate students who are transferring from an accredited community college and have more than 30 earned credit hours from that institution and a 3.5 GPA at time of admission at LR.

The LR Promise was first awarded to students enrolling in fall 2020 and does not apply to students who began enrollment prior to that term. However, financial aid staff are always happy to meet with students to review their financial aid package and make adjustments as appropriate.
