Andy Anderson '73 promoted to Assistant Vice President of Development
Lenoir-Rhyne University is pleased to announce the promotion of Andy Anderson ’73 to Assistant Vice President of Development and Special Adviser to the President. In this new role, Anderson will lead the university’s principal and major gifts efforts, as well as oversee the university’s comprehensive fundraising campaign.
“Andy’s exceptional leadership, dedication, and deep understanding of Lenoir-Rhyne make him the ideal candidate for this important position,” said Cat Serrin Niekro, vice president of advancement. “His proven track record in fundraising and his commitment to our mission will be invaluable as we continue to advance our university and serve our students.”
Since joining Lenoir-Rhyne in 2013, Anderson has served as major gift officer, assistant director of development and director of principal gifts. He has been instrumental in securing significant gifts, supporting the university’s academic programs, student scholarships and campus enhancements.
Previously, Anderson worked for the public schools in both Burke and Caldwell counties for more than 35 years. During this time, he served as a teacher, guidance counselor, coach, principal and associate superintendent.
Anderson has a long history of involvement at LR, beginning with his days as a basketball student-athlete in the 1970s. Anderson and his wife, Jackie, are residents of Granite Falls, North Carolina.
