The council's charge is to look at all that we do through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion. The group will help us implement education, training and revisions to policies and procedures in an effort to make Lenoir-Rhyne the most welcoming and engaging campus possible for all members of our community.

A veteran human resources manager with nearly 15 years of experience, Angelene Fortune was the senior strategic human resource business partner for HCA Healthcare, formerly known as Mission Health System, before being promoted to human resource manager.

Throneburg is tasked with collecting observational data on Louie the elephant to develop the NC Zoo's understanding of his daily behaviors. She is also tasked with recording interactions between Louie and the zoo's four females — Rafiki, Nekhanda, Tonga and Batir — as they integrate into a herd.

Moss is nearing completion of his doctoral degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, and he will teach courses on practical theology, Black church studies and hip hop culture.
