    Remote Instruction Continues  – Thursday-Friday, Jan. 29-30

    Remote instruction will continue on Thursday and Friday for Hickory and Asheville locations.

    This decision reflects our ongoing priority to support the safety of our community as weather conditions evolve across the region. By making a decision about Friday now, we aim to provide clarity and allow everyone to plan accordingly.

Photography Minor


Gain confidence as a photographer as you learn the history of the medium as well as the fundamentals of the art.

The ability to tell a story by capturing a perfect moment in time is a valued talent. The coursework in our Photography minor will help refine your abilities and expertise.

Our curriculum includes a thorough background of the history and fundamentals of the art form, eventually advancing to the development of your own portfolio in higher level classes. You will gain confidence in your understanding of this medium as you develop your craft.

Pairing your minor in Photography with a bachelor’s degree in visual arts, multimedia communication, marketing, theatre is especially beneficial.

The Photography minor includes a thorough background in visual design principles and applied coursework, culminating in a student portfolio. This minor enhances a broad range of majors, providing students with real-world aesthetic and technical skills applicable to any career.
