Ned Kaish

  • B.A., Communications, Lenoir-Rhyne University

Ned Kaish is the assistant coach for the Lenoir-Rhyne men’s lacrosse team. He joined the Bears in 2019 and helped lead them to a 6-1 mark and No. 5 national ranking in 2020. In 2021, the Bears rolled to a 15-2 record, secured the program’s second South Atlantic Conference tournament championship, second national semifinal appearance and first appearance in a title game.

Under his leadership, the 2020 squad earned back-to-back wins over nationally-ranked teams, defeating No. 3 Adelphi and No. 1 Limestone just seven days apart. In addition, the Bears averaged 15.6 goals per game and 48.6 shots per game while coming just one goal shy of tying the record for most goals in a game in a 22-11 season-opening win over Young Harris. LR averaged 17.5 goals in the two wins over the top three teams and only had two games with less than 17 goals scored. The duo of Myles Moffat and Eric Dickinson combined for 44 goals under Kaish’s guidance and the 70 combined points by the duo made them the highest-scoring pair in the South Atlantic Conference.

Kaish had a storied playing career with the Bears as well, ranking fourth in program history in points (170), third in goals scored (124), sixth in assists (46) and fifth in games played (61). Kaish’s 42 goals scored in 2015 ranks as the fifth-highest single-season total in program history and his 21 games with a hat trick is tied for the second most all-time. Kaish earned first team all-conference accolades in 2015.

Prior to returning to LR, Kaish served as the head coach at Northview High School in Johns Creek, Georgia.
