Sociology Minor
Our minor allows you to examine social issues in the light of justice, morality and in the Lutheran tradition.
As a sociology student, you will learn how societies work and the ways in which they do not. You will examine cultural dynamics, norms, organizations, structures, values and other influences that make up our civilizations.
Our minor in sociology is flexible, allowing you to tailor your classes to your areas of interest. Whether it be exploring family relationships and social class, or aging, health care and illness, our curriculum allows you to build a minor which best complements your major area of study.
A minor in Sociology requires 18 hours consisting of the following:

- SOC 100 - Introduction to Sociology
- 15 hours of SOC electives (excluding SOC 458).
Note(s)Note: Students majoring in Criminal Justice wishing to Minor in Sociology must have a minimum of six unique credit hours in the minor.
