• Return to Normal University Operations on Thursday, Feb. 20

    Lenoir-Rhyne University will return to normal university operations on Thursday, Feb. 20, at our all of our campus locations—Hickory, Columbia and Asheville. Classes will resume as scheduled, and all offices will be open.

    Due to the recent weather changes in Hickory, you may opt to move your classes to remote delivery today if you have concerns about safely traveling to campus. If you choose to hold classes remotely, please notify your students and your dean as soon as possible.

    For those holding in-person classes, we ask that you exercise flexibility with attendance policies, understanding that some students may face transportation challenges or safety concerns. Students should not feel compelled to risk unsafe travel conditions to attend class.

    Please communicate your teaching plans to your students and your dean.

A great way to be a part of the LR community is through our recreation and game clubs. Find a group that meets your interests and start having fun.

  • Esports

    The esports team competes in multiple different games, against other collegiate teams. The student-led organization provides an environment for students to grow in their respective games, form a bond with other team members and coaches, as well as compete at a collegiate level. Due to the nature of the organization, members tend to grow or improve their communication, teamwork, problem-solving and develop great focus skills. The organization is a growing community and is welcome to students that want to improve themselves.

    The Garden Club cultivates a love for horticulture through on-campus events.

  • Intramurals

    Stay involved in the sports you love or try a new one with Intramurals. Not only can you participate in fun events, but you will also meet others who share common interests.

    Sign up for upcoming events by registering for an IMLeagues account with Lenoir-Rhyne University. Once you register your account, please search Lenoir-Rhyne University and click on the league sport you and your team want to sign up for. 

  • Outdoor Activity Club

    The Outdoor Activity Club offers adventures and nature-based experiences, from hiking to camping, promoting physical fitness and environmental appreciation. 

  • Sugarbears Dance Team

    As part of LR’s Spirit Team, the Sugarbears perform at football and basketball games.
