Faculty Position: Part-Time/Adjunct Faculty in Political Science for Law Courses

Location: Hickory, North Carolina 

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Lenoir-Rhyne University seeks applications for part-time (adjunct) faculty (contingent on need) to teach courses in Constitutional Law (I: Development of the Legal System and II: Civil Rights and Civil Liberties) and International Law and Organization. 

Appointment begins January 2025 and is eligible for renewal.  

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Successful candidates should have a minimum of a master’s degree in political science with experience teaching law courses or a Juris Doctor (JD). Evidence of exemplary college teaching experience and the ability to develop and deliver classes utilizing non-traditional pedagogies is highly preferred. Candidates must be able to conduct their assigned courses of instruction in the best manner possible to achieve student learning, which includes the presentation of ideas in ways that are appropriate for a variety of learners and that show sensitivity to an inclusive student population. Successful candidates will display a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student mentorship and collaborative work.
