Counseling Faculty


Location: Asheville, NC

The College of Education and Human Services seeks applications for a one-year, full-time, non-tenure-track faculty appointment with the possibility of extension for additional years at the Center for Graduate Studies of Asheville of Lenoir-Rhyne University. Appointment begins August 2024.

This appointment supports the university’s CACREP-accredited M.A. in Counseling program. This position is a nine-month teaching contract involving coursework for Counseling graduate students in the fall and spring semesters with the potential for summer teaching assignments at additional pay. A terminal degree in Counseling and/or Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited institution is preferred but will consider current CACREP-accredited Counselor Education Ph.D. students.

Preferred candidates will possess the credentials and experience to offer courses in clinical mental health counseling and/or school counseling. Evidence of exemplary college teaching experience is strongly preferred.
