LR renovates student lounge in Cromer Center

In an effort to provide students with a better experience during their downtime, Lenoir-Rhyne University recently renovated the student lounge in Cromer Center also known as The Cave.

The renovation of the space was funded by a $3,500 grant from the Millholland Foundation. The upgrades include repainting, adding additional ethernet drops for TVs and gaming systems, and installing four 50-inch Roku TVs, two PlayStation 4s, and two Xbox One gaming systems.

"This area was renovated to provide students an enhanced and attractive area that is also safe," said assistant dean of students Jonathan Rink.

Renovating the lounge allows for a better experience, giving the students an updated area to spend their free time. This space also features two security cameras to aid in student safety and has ample space to satisfy social distancing guidelines.

Current students have responded positively to the improvements.

"It has been upgraded a lot since my freshman year and has a more comfortable feel to it now," said junior Dylaan Mauney.
